Before this install, electricity was only available 1-2 times a week via an old diesel generator. This meant that the children were trying to study at night with battery powered flashlights, which led to unsustainable battery costs, plus the difficulty of trying to study while holding a flashlight. This project was our biggest to that point and included building a platform for solar panels plus installing 1000 Watts of panels plus batteries to allow for lights at night for studying and powering office equipment during the day
